Sources in Wikipedia, the publicly edited encyclopaedia, say that the last year has seen a dramatic increase in the amount of Indian language content. This includes languages such as Kannada, Marathi, Hindi, Assamese, Urdu, Bangla, Tamil and Telugu. Wikipedia started as an English language project in 2001. It currently has over 225 language editions, 16 of which have over 50,000 articles each.
