Tegic, America Online's subsidiary in Indian has released a new Bengali version of its text input software for mobile devices. This follows versions already released in Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Tamil and Urdu. The company has plans to release additional versions in Gujarati and Kannada. The SMS market in India is exploding, expected to grow from 12.3 billion SMS messages today to 180 billion in 2010. (Source: DailyIndia.com)

According to ksl.com, Utah's online source for local news and information, the Utah state government launched a new website on June 1, 06 that included Spanish language web pages. After the Utah Governor's Office received complaints, the Spanish pages have been removed over concerns they violated state law. In 2000, Utah voters passed an English-only state law that prohibits state-sponsored publications in any other language. The governer's office was quoted as saying it is currently reviewing the situation to make certain they are in compliance with state law.
